add a course
STEP 1
Meet with your advisor to discuss classes for the upcoming semester and to retrieve your Advising PIN. The purpose of the Advising PIN is to ensure the opportunity for a conversation with your advisor about your academic plans. You will receive a new PIN each term.
STEP 2
Log on to Banner Self-Service.
STEP 3
From your Student Services dashboard, select Registration under Student Records.
STEP 4
Select Register for Classes.
STEP 5
Select the relevant semester from the drop-down menu, enter your advising PIN, and click Continue. Note: your advising PIN is case-sensitive.
STEP 6
Select the Enter CRNs tab.
STEP 7
Enter the five-digit CRN (Course Reference Number) of the course(s) you wish to add into the box and click Add to Summary.
STEP 8
Your course(s) will show as Pending until you click Submit.
STEP 9
You are enrolled in the course(s) when you see the status as Registered. If the class is full or if there is an error, you will see the status as Errors Preventing Registration.
Drop a Course
Follow STEPS 2-6.
Find the course you wish to withdraw from and select Drop Course by Web in the drop-down menu next to it. Click Submit.
The course will then show the status as Deleted.
Note: You will not be able to drop a course if it will cause your credit hours to drop below the minimum allowed for a given term.
Swap a Course
You may conditionally add and drop courses (swap courses). This means that you will not be dropped from your current course if there is an issue preventing you from being able to enroll in the new course.
Follow STEPS 2-6.
Enter the CRN of your desired course and click Add to Summary. 1. This new course will show as Pending. 2. Select Drop Course by Web in the drop-down menu next to the course you want to swap. 3. Check Conditional Add and Drop. Click Submit.
You are enrolled in the new course when you see its status as Registered. The course that you dropped will be listed as Deleted. If the class is full or if there is an error, you will see the status as Errors Preventing Registration.
